LeBron James sums up thoughts on start date of NBA season with a single emoji

As the adage goes: An emoji’s worth a thousand words.

LeBron James, usually a man of many words, kept his feelings to just a single emoji over the weekend when news broke of the NBA’s 2020-21 season start date.

Taking to Instagram over the weekend, James, of the reigning NBA champion Lakers, took a picture of his TV screen with a single face-palm emoji, certainly signifying at least a little bit of displeasure with the news.

With 71 days from the end of the season to the potential start of the next, James’ body might be a little sore when he retakes the court with Los Angeles.

The NBA and the NBPA came to a preliminary agreement to start the 2020-21 season on Dec. 22 for a slightly shortened slate of 72 games. With the coronavirus pandemic still playing a big role in how sports are able to operate, there are still many questions looming over the NBA season, including scheduling.

James, who was reportedly very vocal of wanting the NBA season to restart in July, finished out the season with a championship victory over the Heat in the NBA Finals in September.
