Ferrari driver Charles LeClerc went on an explosive rant following his fourth placed finish in the Turkish Grand Prix.

The 23-year-old was chasing down Racing Point’s Sergio Perez in second during the final few laps and decided to make an audacious overtake in the final few turns of the race.

However, his attempt to claim second backfired in the slippy condition at Istanbul Park as Perez and his Ferrari teammate Sebastian Vettel overtook him in the final turn as cruelly missed out on a podium finish.

After the gutting final lap, the Monégasque driver began to go on a huge expletive-ridden rant over his team radio – clearly frustrated with his finish to the race.

‘I did a sh*t job. I did a sh*t job. I did sh*t job. I did a sh*t job,’ Leclerc shouted on team radio, ‘that is it’.

‘I am f***ing stupid, as much as in Baku. I am so p***ed off with myself.’

After he had cooled down following his explosive rant, he congratulated his Ferrari teammate Sebastian Vettel who pipped him to third for his first podium of the season.

LeClerc said the German ‘deserved it after it has not been a good year for him.’

Lewis Hamilton fought his way through the pack in the second half of the race to claim his seventh Formula One World Championship title.

The Mercedes driver delivered his own emotional message after passing the chequered flag, but albeit with much more elation following his heroic 94th Grand Prix victory.

The Brit cried tears of joy through his headset as he started to thank his pit team, exclaiming: ‘Thank you so much guys,’ and then began to scream: ‘Woo! Woo!’

‘That’s for all the kids out there that dream the impossible. You can do it too, man. I believe in you.

‘Thank you so much everyone for your support.’
