It’s been a big week in art … AFL finals poster

Every AFL footballer has the skill required, but relatively few possess the attribute that’s especially valued by coaches – a footy brain.

It simply means, as Jack Dyer famously put it, “not getting where the ball ain’t”, and in 2020 Darcy Moore proved he is one of the game’s brainiest.

His talent was evident from the start of his career, with Collingwood using the father and son rule to beat other clubs chasing his signature.

This season’s consistently low scoring has disturbed fans, with most believing strict adherence to game plans is stifling the creativity and flair of football’s more creative practitioners.

Eighteenth century Spanish artist Fransisco Goya believed that fantasy and logic were vital to each other and warned of the danger in separating them in his etching ‘The Sleep Of Reason Produces Monsters.’

Magpies fans will always sleep well knowing that Darcy Moore is there to monster opposition forwards.
