Diogo Jota is not happy with his rating on Fifa 21 after EA Sports maintained his stats from last season.
Jota has impressed in his opening weeks at Liverpool after a summer transfer from Wolves, scoring seven goals in 11 appearances. And the 23-year-old Portuguese pointed out his impressive performances in last season’s Europa League and believes he should have been increased from his rating of 80 on the video game.
“I think they were taken by surprise when I went to Liverpool. They thought I was going to stay at Wolverhampton and then they didn’t even bother to upgrade my card,” he told Einsteins TVI, as reported by O Jogo. “I kept the data from last season, and despite being one of the best scorers in the Europa League and everything, they didn’t even bother.
“As long as they send me my 99 card, which it seems every professional player is entitled to, I am happy.”
Jota is enjoying life at Liverpool but says he feels “bitter” about missing out on the Anfield atmosphere due to the pandemic.
“It feels bitter not being able to feel the atmosphere of Anfield,” he said. “I try not to think about a long future. I came here to do my best, I didn’t aim for anything in particular and when that is the case, there are no disappointments or surprises.”
