Harry Maguire was sent off for England as his disastrous start to the season continued.
The Manchester United defender saw red for two bookable offences just 30 minutes into the game against Denmark.
Maguire twice lunged into tackles late and the Spanish referee had no other decision other than to give him a red.
The first saw him nail Christian Poulsen; the second Kasper Dolberg.
It further extends the torrid time that Maguire has been facing in recent weeks.
After a less-than-ideal summer, which sees him facing charges of allegedly assaulting a police officer in Greece, Maguire has had a troubled time on the pitch.
He looked off the boil when United started their season with a defeat to Crystal Palace.
And in the final United game before the international break, he saw the defence he was leading concede six to Tottenham – with numerous calamities along the way.
To add to the woe of being sent off for England, the three Lions found themselves a goal down to Denmark just two minutes later.

Describing Maguire, Sky Sports commentator Gary Neville said: "That sums up his last 4-6 weeks. Terrible time for him.

"It's scruffy play from him. The touch is really slack and then the follow through."
