Mikel Arteta has sent a message to Arsenal star Alexandre Lacazette as the forward failed to score again.
The Frenchman could not find the net as the Gunners suffered a surprise 3-0 loss to Aston Villa at home.
It means the No.9 has not scored for the north London side since the end of September in a 3-1 loss to Liverpool.
But Arteta has promised that he will work with Lacazette to bring the best out of him.
Speaking in the post-match press conference, the Gunners boss said: “My job is to get the best out of the players and put them in the best possible scenarios.
“If they’re not performing, it’s because we have to help them more.”
Arsenal were blown away by Villa as they piled on the pressure from minute one, with John McGinn finding the net in the first minute – only to be ruled out for offside.
But the side that had beaten Liverpool 7-2 last month did not rest on their laurels and forced an own goal from Bukayo Saka after 25 minutes.
Despite Arsenal getting back into the game and threatening former goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, two strikes from Ollie Watkins with 15 minutes left ended any chance of a comeback.
“First of all congratulations to Aston Villa for the way they played and the victory,” Arteta said after the game.
“After that, we performed below our standards and I have to say it's the first time I've seen us play and we weren't a team.
“I take full responsibility. We didn't start well enough, we got away with VAR for an offside situation but we lost all the races, the duels and we were sloppy on the ball.
“When we created chances we didn't hit the target. It's a really bad combination. We left spaces and on the counter we looked really vulnerable.”
It comes as Arteta also gave an update on Thomas Partey, who picked up an injury that saw him come off at half time.
