The agent of Gareth Bale believes the on-loan Tottenham star is capable of leading the club to the Premier League title this season.

In arguably the most intriguing deal of the summer transfer window, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy was able to persuade Real Madrid to let the Wales international leave the Bernabeu and return to north London on loan.

Once fully fit, Bale will form a mouthwatering front line alongside Harry Kane and Heung-min Son which will be the envy of their Premier League rivals.

Before the international break, Spurs made a major statement of their credentials by beating Manchester United 6-1 at Old Trafford.

It is hoped Bale will be ready to make his second debut for Spurs when they host West Ham on October 18.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Bale's agent Jonathan Barnett, who is an Arsenal fan, predicted the 31-year-old is capable of taking Spurs to their first league title since 1961.

"Win the Premier League, without doubt," Barnett told Sky Sports.

"Tottenham have got a good squad, a great coach and with Gareth's help I'm sure they will get very close.

"You only have to see the results from last week to see that it's open.

"It kills me to say that because I'm an Arsenal supporter, but that's the reality.

"He has nothing to prove to anybody. He's won more than anybody else.

"He was one of the best three or four players in the world and I think he still is.

"If he succeeds, great, If not, he's been there and done it. But, I think he will succeed."
