Manchester United fans are panicking over three stars after Cristiano Ronaldo tested positive for coronavirus. Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial have all been in contact with Ronaldo during the international break as Portugal played France in the Nations League.
Ronaldo is not suffering symptoms, but is now self-isolating and will miss Portugal’s game against Sweden on Wednesday after his positive test was announced.
He was the only player in the Portugal squad to return a positive test following Sunday’s 0-0 draw with France, meaning Fernandes and the rest of his international colleagues will be able to face Sweden.
And while that is good news for United, fans face an anxious wait to discover whether any of Fernandes, Pogba and Martial test positive in the coming days.
If that were to happen, they would of course need to self-isolate for 14 days – with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side facing some huge games over the next few weeks.

Martial is already suspended for Saturday’s return to Premier League action against Newcastle, after the French striker was sent off in United’s 6-1 drubbing against Tottenham following his handbags with Erik Lamela.
Three days after the trip to St James’ Park, United kick off their Champions League campaign with a tough opener away to last season’s finalists Paris-Saint Germain.
The Red Devils then face three high-pressure home games, with the visit of RB Leipzig on October 28 sandwiched between Old Trafford clashes against Chelsea on October 24 and Arsenal on November 1.
United then go on the road again with a long trip to Turkey to face Istanbul Basaksehir on November 4, and a testing clash away to current Premier League leaders Everton on November 7 – which will be the final game before the next international break.

Following Ronaldo’s positive coronavirus test, United fans took to Twitter to voice their fears over Fernandes, Pogba and Martial.
Fernandes and Pogba both started in Sunday’s game, while Martial came on as a late substitute for Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud.
One said: “Oh God don’t let Bruno Fernandes test positive for COVID because we play chelsea next week and we have to score them 6… Humble prayer….”
Another fan wrote: “Does that mean that Bruno, Martial and Pogba will have to quarantine? Man we are so so dead.”

And one Twitter user made a dramatic prediction about the potential effects if all three had to isolate, posting: “If Bruno, Martial & Pogba are tested positive for COVID as a result of playing along-side Ronaldo, Man United may as well write off this season now.”
United fans will hope Solskjaer doesn’t have to do without any more key players with a big run of fixtures coming up.
Edinson Cavani is also out of Saturday’s clash against Newcastle as he is still self-isolating as a precaution following his arrival in the UK earlier this month.
The absence of both Cavani and Martial could see Marcus Rashford moved into the centre of United”s attack, with either Dan James or Donny van de Beek taking the England’s man’s place on the left flank.
